Some Colic May Be Tied to Migraines in Newborns

Newborns who cry for more than three hours a day, at least three days a week for at least three week may be diagnosed with colic. In the past, the intestines were usually blamed but now there is some research about migraines causing or contributing to the colic.

If this is the case,  “Try to limit stimuli exposure,” said Dr. Gelfand, (in the article below). “Turn down lights, limit the number of people that are in the room at the same time. The goal is to try to keep things as quiet as they can. You might even suggest using some sort of white noise machine to limit the possibility of the baby hearing sudden loud noises.”
